Lottie Moon Christmas Offering

“How many there are … who imagine that because Jesus paid it all, they need pay nothing, forgetting that the prime object of their salvation was that they should follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in bringing back a lost world to God.”

What is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering?

The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected by Southern Baptists to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially.

Who was Lottie Moon?

Lottie Moon was sent as a Southern Baptist missionary to China from 1873 to 1912. She saw firsthand the world’s greatest problem — LOSTNESS. Meeting so many people who had never heard the gospel compelled her to write letters to American churches describing the need for a greater missionary presence. She pleaded for increased prayer and financial support to send and sustain more missionaries. This challenge became known as the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

What does the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering support?

Every dollar that you give to the offering goes directly to the mission field. The offering provides financial support to missionaries, freeing them from the burden of fundraising and allowing them to stay on the field 100% of the time. It also contributes to extensive cross-cultural training and comprehensive support to missionaries and allows medical supplies, clean water, and the life-transforming message of the Gospel to reach thousands.

Please consider donating to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering to support missionaries who are going with the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide! We also invite you to stop by the Women on Mission Lottie Moon display in The Point on Sunday mornings through the month of December.
