We believe that God has called all His children to share the gospel boldly, expecting Him to bring to faith those who hear the gospel, and to make disciples of those whom God saves. Specifically, we believe that First Baptist Powell members are called to take the gospel to areas and to peoples who have little or no access to the gospel. Our goal is to make disciples while forming indigenous local churches.
In our quest to equip First Baptist Powell members and send them out into the world, we celebrate the fact that God has placed us in this church family to make a difference. He wants to use each of us in our very own communities. What better places to share His love than where we work, live and play!
North American Missions
Two hundred fifty-nine million people in the United States and Canada do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. First Baptist Powell is committed to push back lostness in North America by planting and strengthening churches. We are also committed to partnering with others who share our passion to make disciples.
First Baptist Powell seeks to follow Christ as He leads into areas of His world where we can carry the gospel for the purpose of making disciples, planting churches and strengthening existing churches.
GO Teams are short-term mission teams that are designed to assist our church-planting and disciple-making efforts world-wide. Each short-term trip is planned with a larger strategy in mind, so that we are working together with our partners to make disciples and plant churches. Every team is an integral part in reaching the goal of making disciples of all nations.
