SUNDAYS @ FIRST BAPTIST POWELL

Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning at 8:45AM and focus primarily on teaching Bible content. These classes typically walk through books of the Bible, and while the primary focus is learning, Sunday School classes are also a wonderful space for building community.

Due to our Main Worship Center Remodel, we will be gathering in our Family Life Center - Gymnasium for two services:

First Service: 8:00 AM
Second Service: 10:30 AM

Gospel-centered worship is one of our chief aims. We are under the conviction that our faith is shaped not only by the content of our service but also by the order itself. The content of our liturgy (songs, prayers, scripture readings, etc.) is gospel-saturated as we worship Jesus.

Community Groups are one of the practical ways we live out our mission of being “a Gospel-centered community who loves God and others by worshipping Him, proclaiming His Word, sharing His Gospel, and equipping His people.” We believe that one of the most impactful ways to accomplish this mission is through building relationships where the Gospel can be lived out and practiced in visible community. Each group meets in a member’s home on Sunday afternoons/evenings, sharing a meal and studying the message from the morning worship service in greater detail.

On Fourth Sunday evenings, we take a break from community groups and gather together again at 5PM for a special worship service. This time is often a more intimate, informal time of worship, prayer, and bringing the Word.
