First Baptist Powell offers several ministries to help people find community and serve with others in the same season of life. Check out some of the opportunities below.
College & Career
Our desire is to see Christ proclaimed and glorified on college campuses, in the workplace, and in our daily interactions. We meet to hear the gospel of Christ, worship Christ, encourage one another in Christ, and grow in the Word of God that proclaims the Lordship of Christ.
Our student ministry desires to build a strong, gospel-centered foundation in the lives of the students. We want to do this by learning and studying the Word of God together, and living out that biblical community through small groups.
Partnering with parents, our children’s ministry wants to guide kids toward a heart for God. We desire to provide an environment in which children are safe, are taught God’s word, and are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our desire is to partner with you in order to give your child a strong foundation on which to build. We want to provide your child with a safe, Christian environment to learn, to feel love, and to experience Biblical truths.
Our mission at FBP is to “invest in and equip the next generation to live Christ-transformed lives in a rapidly changing culture.” We believe that the most impactful way to accomplish our mission is through building relationships where the Gospel can be lived out and practiced in visible community.
Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM for various activities for all ages, including Student Ministry, Choir, and Core Classes.
At First Baptist Powell, our worship is centered around the Word of God. Scripture informs and instructs everything we do. The reading of Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and preaching are all critically important elements of corporate worship. One of the best ways we incorporate Scripture into our worship services and cause it to dwell in our hearts is through the use of music.
We believe that First Baptist Powell members are called to take the gospel to areas and to peoples who have little or no access to the gospel. Our goal is to make disciples while forming indigenous local churches.
