Go with the Gospel
In order to encourage and facilitate broad involvement in going with the Gospel, First Baptist offers a variety of both near-culture and cross-culture missional opportunities across three geographic spaces. We believe that God has called all His children to share the gospel boldly, expecting Him to bring to faith those who hear the gospel, and to make disciples of those whom God saves.
Each of these spaces may present either near or cross-cultural contexts for sharing the gospel. That is, you may not have to travel a great distance to share the gospel across cultural or language barriers. In contrast, you may travel a great distance to find yourself sharing the gospel with individuals who speak your language and share your culture.
Upcoming Mission Trips
In our quest to equip First Baptist Powell members and send them out into the world, we celebrate the fact that God has placed us and intends to use us in our own communities. These are missional opportunities that can be reached within less than a day’s drive from Powell and oftentimes completed within a day.
North American Missions
First Baptist Powell is committed to push back lostness in North America by planting and strengthening churches and partnering with others who share our passion of making disciples. These are missional opportunities within North America that require more extensive travel, sometimes requiring flights. These opportunities typically require a time requirement of days or even weeks to complete.
First Baptist Powell seeks to follow Christ as He leads into areas of His world where we can carry the gospel for the purpose of making disciples, planting churches and strengthening existing churches. These are missional opportunities that require travel outside North America. These opportunities typically require a time requirement of days or even weeks to complete.
GO Teams are short-term mission teams that are designed to assist our church-planting and disciple-making efforts world-wide. Each short-term trip is planned with a larger strategy in mind, so that we are working together with our partners to make disciples and plant churches. Every team is an integral part in reaching the goal of making disciples of all nations.
