FBP Kids
We seek to deposit the gospel of Christ in the hearts of children with the goal of cultivating love for God and others.
Get Involved:
wednesday evenings
6:30-7:30PM
During the school year, K-5th graders take part in Children’s Choir, practicing Wednesday evenings and performing on designated Sunday mornings!
During the summer, our kids take part in games and a Bible study focused on a particular topic.
Sunday Mornings
Sunday School | 8:45am
Sunday School classes provide opportunity for growth in discipleship and relationship building in a small group setting. Classes are divided by age and gender.
Main Worship Service | 10:15am
Childcare for babies-2nd graders is available during the Main Worship Service. Babies-preschool children will remain in their Sunday School class for the entirety of the service, while K-2nd grade children sit in the first part of the service and are dismissed to their own service (G-Force) prior to the sermon.
Catechism usage:
We utilize catechisms within our Children’s Ministry to equip kids with key knowledge of the Christian faith. Catechisms focus on memorization and recitation to drive spiritual concepts into the heart from an early age. At First Baptist Powell, we specifically use the New City Catechism, which features 52 questions and answers that are memorized in different amounts depending on age. Learn more on the New City Catechism page.

Our desire is to partner with you in order to provide your child with a safe, Christian environment to learn, to feel love, and to experience Biblical truths.

By doing so, we help your child develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically. The foundations of love and acceptance laid during the preschool years are basic to helping boys and girls develop a trusting relationship with God. Our preschool leadership and teachers eagerly await the opportunity to assist families like yours in this important responsibility.
“According to the grace of God which was given to me,
as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it.
But let each one take heed to how he builds on it.” – I Corinthians 3:10
